Q: What got you started with Go To IT Solutions? Was it your background in QuickBooks or something else that sparked the idea?

Monica: "As an immigrant, I wore a lot of hats when we first arrived with my husband and two young daughters. Among those roles, I became certified in QuickBooks and worked as an administrator at a company that managed QuickBooks and AllOrders. My husband, however, was always passionate about software, and he began implementing systems—first on his own, and then later, partnering with Santiago. Eventually, I decided to quit my job and join him, and that’s when Go To IT Solutions was born."


Q: You love helping people have those “lightbulb moments” with tech. Can you share a memorable story of a client who surprised themselves with what they could do?

Monica: "Absolutely! We make it a point of building close relationships with our clients, which allows us to design solutions tailored to their needs. A memorable case involved a client struggling to manage product history information across multiple screens. By creating a single interface where they could see the entire history—purchase details, sale records, supplier information—they could make informed decisions in seconds rather than wasting time. The efficiency and clarity of this new approach were eye-opening for them, and it left a lasting impression."


Q: You’re big on automating tasks to make life easier. How do you decide what to automate first, and can you share an example of automation that has really changed the game for your clients?

Monica: "When clients come to us, they often need either an automated process, something outside standard software, or integrations with other systems. Together, we prioritize their needs and find the best way forward. One impactful example is a Shipping System we developed. Previously, the client had to call each shipping company to request a quote, which was extremely time-consuming. By integrating APIs from each supplier, our system lets them compare quotes in real-time, choose the best option, and finalize shipments in seconds. This streamlined their workflow and saved them countless hours."


Q: Transitioning to new software often has its challenges. What’s the most common hurdle you see, and how do you help clients overcome it?

Monica: "Though technology has become easier to implement over time, the real challenge is in guiding clients through changes in methodology as they adapt to new tools. Migrating from familiar systems can be intimidating, but we’re there every step of the way, ensuring they have direct communication with our team to make the transition as smooth as possible. It’s all about comprehensive support and making sure they feel comfortable with the changes."


Q: You’re a QuickBooks expert. Are there any hidden features or tricks that users might not even realize they can use?

Monica: "Oh, absolutely. I often tell clients, ‘You don’t know what you don’t know.’ For instance, few users leverage shortcuts, which can be a huge timesaver. Also, in QuickBooks Online, working with multiple tabs speeds up operations significantly. There are so many small tips that can make a big difference, but many users just aren’t aware of them."


Q: Technology changes so fast—how do you stay up to date and ensure your clients always receive the best, most current solutions?

Monica: "We dedicate time each week to researching the latest updates and advancements. Whether it’s new software capabilities, emerging trends, or industry standards, staying informed is essential. Q: How does client feedback shape the way you work? Can you think of a time when feedback made you rethink your approach?

Monica: "Client feedback is invaluable. It’s an integral part of refining our processes and improving our solutions. Their insights helped us reshape our system to better meet their needs, which ultimately made the final solution far more effective and efficient."
